A typeface shaped around your brand We design a new custom typeface around your brand's character and intended use. The service includes letterforms, spacing, kerning, Russian and English typesetting checks, and desktop and web files. This is commissioned design work, not a purchase of the ready-made DDRW Text + Display bundle. Choose a package Display — one style · $2,500 • One upright style for headlines, covers, packaging and large lettering. • Russian including Ё/ё, English, uppercase and lowercase letters, digits, agreed punctuation and currency symbols. • Up to 250 glyphs, with the exact list approved in the brief. A glyph is one character drawing, including any agreed alternates. • Spacing and letter-pair checks in headlines and other agreed specimens. • Typical timing: 6–8 weeks. Text — one style · $4,900 • One upright style for body copy and interfaces. • Russian and English uppercase and lowercase letters, digits, agreed punctuation and currency symbols; up to 350 glyphs. • Additional attention to similar-looking characters, text density and readability at agreed small sizes. • Checks in text blocks and interface elements. • Typical timing: 8–12 weeks. Family — three weights · $8,900 • One coordinated typeface design in three upright weights: Regular, Medium and Bold. • The same Russian and English character set, up to 350 glyphs per weight. • Coordinated proportions, weight, spacing and kerning across all three weights. • We agree in the brief whether the family is for display use or body text and interfaces. This package does not include two independent Display and Text families. • Typical timing: 12–16 weeks. How the project works 1. Brief and scope. We define the brand, audience, media, sizes, languages and final character list, then confirm the package and start date. 2. Design direction. We present two small explorations using key letters and develop one selected direction. These are early samples, not two complete typefaces. 3. Character set and spacing. We draw the agreed characters and set widths, spacing and kerning. Two consolidated revision rounds are included within the selected direction and character set. 4. Verification and handoff. We check installation, Russian and English typesetting, file loading and a test web page, then deliver the files and guidance. What you receive • Desktop TTF and web WOFF2 files: one file of each format for each style in your selected package. • Editable letterform sources in UFO, a PDF specimen and the complete supported-character list. • An @font-face CSS example and short usage guidance. • Checks of the agreed scenarios on Windows/macOS and the current Chrome, Safari and Firefox releases at handoff. Automated technical preparation is included; manual hinting of every glyph is not. What we need from you A short brand and product brief, visual references, any existing logo, intended media and sample copy. One client contact consolidates feedback into a single list per revision round. Supplied material must be available for use in the project. Timing and completion The package timeline starts after the brief, start date and source material are confirmed. Waiting for feedback and scope changes are outside that timeline. Completion means working files with the agreed glyph set, styles and spacing, plus the handoff package. Changes to an approved direction or character-set extensions are quoted separately before additional work begins. Usage and rights The price includes use of the finished typeface by one brand in its own print materials, websites and applications. Editable sources are included. The license terms, any assignment of exclusive rights and permission to distribute or sell files to third parties are defined in the agreement before work starts; purchasing a package does not itself permit reselling the typeface. Trademark registration and legal clearance are not included. Not included • Logo design, naming, a complete visual identity, or modifying or copying a third-party commercial font. • Italics, variable fonts, additional styles, a second independent family, languages beyond Russian and English, or complex writing systems. • Advanced OpenType features, additional alternates and manual hinting beyond the agreed brief. • Integration into a live website or application, interface redesign, printing or ongoing maintenance. Quantity and payment One unit is one selected package for one brand. This is a one-time fixed-scope service paid in advance, not hourly work or an instant download of a finished typeface. Ordering multiple units does not automatically extend the character set, number of styles or usage rights. Please send a short brief before payment so we can confirm package suitability and an available start date. Additional work and third-party costs are agreed separately. Prices shown here are fixed in USD for the selected package; no automatic currency conversion is used.
